Asbestos Air Monitoring
WHAT WE DO
Asbestos air monitoring measures airborne fibre levels during removal and disturbance works to confirm that controls are working and exposures remain within accepted limits. Safety Systems provides monitoring, sampling, and in-house NATA accredited laboratory analysis across all removal classes, giving you objective evidence that fibre levels are controlled and your obligations are met.
WHEN IT'S REQUIRED
Class A friable removal requires air monitoring when:
- Work is conducted indoors
- Work is conducted outdoors where there is a risk to other persons
Class B non-friable monitoring is required or recommended where:
- The condition of the material increases the risk of fibre release
- Removal methods may generate dust
- Work is undertaken in occupied buildings
- There is a risk to other workers or the public
- Large quantities of non-friable asbestos are being removed
- The principal contractor or client requires verification of controls
HOW WE DO IT
- Confirm scope and regulatory requirements
- Develop a risk-based monitoring plan
- Install calibrated sampling equipment
- Collect samples using approved methods
- Analyse in our NATA accredited laboratory
- Interpret results against applicable criteria
- Issue clear, compliant reporting
YOUR SOLUTION
- Independent. Accredited. Compliant.
- Fast turnaround on site
- Results that hold up
- From monitoring to close-out
WHY IT MATTERS
Air monitoring is not just a regulatory checkbox, it is the primary evidence that removal controls worked and that workers, occupants, and the public were protected. Without independent monitoring by a competent person, you have no verified record that fibre levels were within acceptable limits, and no clearance basis for reoccupation.
With Safety Systems, you get:
- NATA accredited results accepted by regulators, clients, and auditors
- Independent verification that controls were effective throughout
- Clearance documentation that satisfies reoccupation requirements
- Fast turnaround to keep your project on programme
- Complete reporting that demonstrates due diligence under the regulations
- Support to act on findings if issues are identified during works
