Asbestos Visual Clearance
INTRODUCTION
Before an area can be returned to normal use following asbestos removal, an independent clearance inspection must confirm that no visible asbestos debris remains. Under the regulations, a clearance certificate must be issued by an independent competent person before barriers and enclosures are removed and the space is handed back. This applies to all Class A removal work and Class B removal work greater than 10 square metres.
Safety Systems provides independent visual clearance inspections and issues formal clearance certificates, with air monitoring coordination available where friable asbestos has been removed.

WHY IT MATTERS
A clearance certificate is not a formality, it is the legal gateway to reoccupation. Without it, the area cannot be handed back, barriers cannot come down, and your project cannot move forward. Issued by the wrong person or without proper inspection, it provides no protection at all.
Without independent clearance, you have no verified confirmation that removal was completed correctly or that the space is safe for workers and future occupants to return to.
With Safety Systems, you get:
- Independent confirmation that removal work is complete and the area is clear
- A clearance certificate accepted by regulators, clients, and auditors
- Fast turnaround to prevent project delays at handover
- Coordination of clearance air monitoring where friable asbestos was removed
- Documentation suitable for compliance and audit records
- Protection for workers, future occupants, and the public
- Evidence of due diligence under the regulations
